About The Artist

Jason Wilson A mississippi native began his career with college art classes and then moved on to an apprenticeship in the Smokey Mountains. After his apprenticeship he opened his own shop in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. In his constant search to evolve and grow as a Potter, Jason moved to Sedona, Arizona furthering his career as a Ceramic Artist. He also lived, worked and attended classes in Asheville, North Carolina learning the multiple components of clay and the technique of mixing them. Jason has set up and worked in studios across the southern United States east to west. He later returned to the amazing red rocks of Sedona, Arizona for several years where he continued to mold himself as a skilled sculpter with a working education in the art of clay. Jason was drawn back to his home state of Mississipi to continue his passion of making objects that resonate with energy.

He is now located in his hometown of Sylvarena, Mississippi.

My inspiration and motivation to create comes from life's day-to-day interaction with the world around me, a combination of nature's shapes, textures and emotions. All that I feel, see and hear as I go through my day is reproduced in everything I make. I also have a great love for the oriental style and find much inspiration in Oriental shapes and design.
